A portable EV charger, often called a granny charger, lets you charge your electric car or plug-in hybrid from a standard UK 3-pin socket. Simply plug it into a wall socket in good condition and connect the charging connector to your car.

It charges at about 2.3kW, adding roughly 8 miles of range per hour. A typical overnight charge adds roughly 80 miles. That covers everyday driving for most people and fully recharges most plug-in hybrids. It’s ideal for plug-in hybrids, renters and trips away from home, or as a short-term solution or backup alongside your home charger. For regular or long-term charging, a dedicated EV-rated socket (BS 1363-2) is recommended, fitted by an electrician.

Our chargers use a Type 2 connector, the standard on electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles sold in the UK and EU, including Tesla, BMW, Volkswagen, Hyundai, MG, Nissan, Renault, Kia, DS, Omoda and Jaecoo. Plug-in hybrids charge in exactly the same way, at whatever rate the car's onboard charger supports.

Our charging equipment is CE marked, with UKCA marking where listed, and built to IEC standards for EV charging equipment. Built-in protection includes in-line RCD, with IP-rated weather protection for outdoor use. 

We have a 45-day return policy, which means you have 45 days from delivery to request a return, provided the item is in as-new, resaleable condition.
