What is the maximum power rating of this Type 2 extension cable?
The cable supports charging at up to 22 kW (32 A, three‑phase) or up to 7.4 kW (32 A, standard single‑phase), making it compatible with virtually all domestic and public AC chargers currently available in the UK. It’s ideal for extending your charging reach without compromising on speed.

Is the extension cable waterproof?
With an IP55 rating, this cable is protected against dust ingress and water jets from any direction. Just remember, it's water-resistant rather than fully waterproof. So, avoid full immersion, exposure to high-pressure sprays, or prolonged use in heavy downpours.

Can a three-phase (3-phase) cable be used with a single-phase (1-phase) charger, or vice versa?
The short answer is yes, but charging speed will be limited by the maximum power the connected charger can deliver.
A standard 32-amp (32A) single-phase cable can deliver up to 7.4 kW, whereas a 32A three-phase cable can deliver up to 22 kW. If you connect a three-phase cable to a single-phase charger, you'll only get the charger's maximum of 7.4 kW. Similarly, if you use a single-phase cable with a three-phase charger, it will also be limited to 7.4 kW.

Should I get a single-phase (1-phase) or three-phase (3-phase) cable?
If you have the option, a three-phase cable is always the better choice. This is because it can support faster charging speeds when a three-phase charger is available, which is common at most public charge points.
